Signs of an underlining learning issue.

  • Poor handwriting
  • Activities requiring balance and/or coordination require great effort and are often met with reluctance
  • Difficulties with reading and spelling
  • Limited concentration
  • Poor listening skills
  • Poor comprehension
  • Struggles with articulation (pronunciation) of words
  • Letter reversals (b/d) and inversions (m/w)
  • Word transposition (felt/left) and substitutions (house/home)
  • Transposes number sequences
  • Confuses arithmetic signs (+, -, x, /, =)
  • Slow recall of facts (multiplication tables, poems, etc.)
  • Difficulty solving arithmetic problems and grasping basic math concepts
  • Doesn’t participate in recess or has difficulty with classes that are usually considered fun
