Learning doesn't have to be so hard . . .

To whom it may concern:

During kindergarten it became apparent that my son Nicholas wasn’t learning like the other kids in his classroom. At the end of the second trimester the school recommended that he be retained in kindergarten. I knew that my son was a smart boy and he was developmentally mature enough to learn. We worked with him at home and he was provided extra help at school but nothing seemed to be working. It felt like the ability to read and write was locked behind a door in his mind and we didn’t have the key.

The school agreed that from all appearances my son had a processing disorder but he didn’t meet the standard qualifications for testing and assistance. On a daily basis I could see the downward spiral that my son was trapped in. He no longer wanted to attend school and he would hang on me screaming when I dropped him off. His self-esteem was damaged and he would tell people that he wasn’t smart like the other boys and girls. We decided that we couldn’t wait for the school system to take action we needed to find help for our son. After doing some research, I learned about the Brain Zone and scheduled a meeting. Nicholas started with two sessions per week. After working with Nicholas for a short period of time, the staff at the Brain Zone saw indications of an auditory processing disorder. Testing confirmed that his auditory processing skills were below his age level.

The Brain Zone designed a program to help Nicholas. When he started with the Brain Zone he was unable to read and could identify and retain only a few words. The program that the Brain Zone designed for Nicholas was the key that unlocked the door to his mind. Nicholas is currently in first grade. When he started the school year he informed his teacher that he could not read because he wasn’t a smart boy. Last week he received his first 100% score on a themed reading test. He achieved one of the highest scores in the classroom. The school is amazed at his development and now looks at Nicholas and instead of seeing a child that should have been retained in kindergarten and isn’t working at his grade level they see a first grader who has the potential to be in the Gate program.

Brain Zone identified what was preventing my son from learning and designed the program that unlocked his mind. It was a life changing program for Nicholas. That very same little boy who started the school year by announcing that he couldn’t read is filled with self-confidence and loves reading.

With full confidence I highly recommend Brain Zone.
